RTAG Leadership

Joshua Lee — President

Joshua Lee

Joshua Lee is a U.S. Army veteran, aviator, and passionate advocate for the veteran community. He currently serves as a First Officer for a U.S. legacy airline and as a Chief Warrant Officer 5 (CW5) and Command Chief Warrant Officer within the U.S. Army Reserve Aviation Command, based at Fort Carson, Colorado. He is rated in both the C-12 and UH-60 Blackhawk, continuing to serve and fly in support of the Army Reserve mission.

Across multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, Joshua served as a helicopter instructor pilot, instrument examiner, and tactical operations officer, flying MEDEVAC and Air Assault missions. His broad experience in both military and commercial aviation has shaped his lifelong commitment to service, mentorship, and building pathways for others to succeed.

Outside the flightdeck, Joshua is a public speaker, educator, and college professor who continues to champion professional growth and family support throughout the transition process.

Together with his wife, Becky, he works to ensure that every veteran and their family have the tools and community they need to thrive after service.

Tim Kirschbaum — Executive Vice President

Tim Kirschbaum

Tim is a former Army Scout and Attack helicopter pilot, crew chief, tactical operations officer, maintenance test pilot, instructor pilot, maintenance evaluator, air mission commander, and maintenance manager. He currently flies for a U.S. based commercial carrier. Tim retired from active duty in 2018. During his time in the Army, he completed six overseas combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. His combat awards include three Bronze Stars and six Air Medals.

In his off time, Tim enjoys working on cars and motorcycles, scuba diving, hiking, and music concerts.

Jim McClung — Executive Vice President of Scholarships and Special Projects

Jim McClung

Jim McClung brings a distinguished record of military service and aviation expertise to his role as Executive Vice President of Scholarships and Special Projects at RTAG. A former U.S. Army MEDEVAC Helicopter Pilot, Tactical Operations Officer, Unit Trainer, and Air Mission Commander, Jim completed three overseas combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan before retiring from active duty in June 2019. His service was recognized with two Air Medals, among other honors. He continues to serve in the skies today as a pilot for a U.S. commercial carrier.

Jim’s connection to RTAG began long before he officially joined the Board of Directors in 2019. Working behind the scenes as an advisor from the organization’s earliest days, he played an instrumental role in organizing the first-ever RTAG Convention in Savannah, Georgia. Since joining the board, Jim has been a driving force in growing RTAG’s reach and impact, guided always by a single, unwavering principle: Help Veterans.

Outside of the cockpit and his volunteer work, Jim enjoys spending time outdoors, engaging with his community, and being present for his two children, Conner and Amelia.
